High School & College Seniors
Your Senior Portraits Should Feel Like You
Senior year is a milestone, but it’s also a whole season of life.
Your portraits should capture more than what you looked like. They should feel like a snapshot of who you were at this moment: your personality, interests, relationships, accomplishments, and the places that mattered to you.
Senior photography with As You Are is relaxed, personal, and built around the graduate, whether we’re spending an afternoon creating portraits together or documenting pieces of the year as they actually happen.
Senior Portraits are Where As You Are Photography Started
When I was a high school junior, I noticed how stiff and posed my friends often looked in their senior photos, nothing like the people I actually knew. So I started photographing them differently, looking for the expressions, interests, and personalities that made them them.
That was back in 2008.
Nearly two decades later, that’s still what I want senior photography to feel like: a celebration of who you are right now, not somebody else’s idea of who you should be.
What Your Senior Session Includes
Whether we keep things simple or make a day of it, every senior portrait session includes:
Natural direction without stiff or forced posing
A full gallery of fully edited, high-resolution images
A private online gallery with unlimited downloads
Printing rights + web-ready versions
Sneak peeks within a few days
Full gallery delivery within 3-4 weeks
No image-count packages. If I like the photo, it’s in your final gallery.
Your Senior Session, Your Way
There’s no required senior-photo formula here.
We can go somewhere scenic, wander downtown, return to a favorite neighborhood or campus, or choose a place with personal meaning.
And if something or someone is part of your story, bring them along!
The goal of our session isn’t to check off a list of traditional senior poses.
It’s to make photographs that actually remind you of this version of yourself.

Let’s Document Your Senior Year
Some of the photographs that matter most aren’t made during a portrait session at all.
Senior year is filled with moments that disappear quickly: games, performances, competitions, birthdays, traditions, celebrations, friendships, final seasons, graduation, and everything in between.
If you want more than portraits, I can document those parts of the year too.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
High school seniors: Late summer and fall are popular for yearbook deadlines and autumn portraits. Spring works beautifully for graduation announcements and portraits closer to commencement.
College seniors: I recommend reaching out during the semester before graduation.
If you’re interested in a Senior Year Story, reaching out early in the school year gives us the most flexibility to plan the events you’d like documented.
-
Anywhere that fits the graduate.
That might mean a favorite park, downtown neighborhood, school or campus, meaningful hangout, or a combination of locations.
If you have a general feeling in mind but no specific place, I’m happy to help brainstorm.
-
Wear something that feels like you first.
Most seniors bring a couple of options so we can create different looks during the session. Once we’ve chosen your locations, I can also help you think through colors, patterns, and outfits that will photograph well there.
-
Absolutely, and I encourage it!
Sports, musical instruments, books, art, uniforms, pets, vehicles, collections, or anything else genuinely connected to this stage of your life can help make the session more personal.
-
Almost anything meaningful and photographable.
Sports, performances, academic competitions, senior nights, birthdays, dances, award ceremonies, graduation parties, commencement, and personal traditions can all work.
If you’re unsure whether something fits, ask. The whole idea is to document your version of senior year.
-

We can start with the moments you already know matter and leave some flexibility for things that come up during the year.

No.
Your gallery includes high-resolution downloads and printing rights, so you’re free to print your photographs wherever you choose. For convenience, your gallery also includes access to a professional printing lab with affordable pricing.
Let’s talk!
You don’t need to know which session package you want, or even exactly what you want your senior photos to look like.
Tell me a little about who you are, what this year looks like, and what you’d actually want to remember about it. I’ll use your answers to help recommend a senior experience that fits.
Think of this less as a booking form and more as the start of our brainstorm.
