This 2019 open house with Early Risers of Mount Vernon Toastmasters captures a club that was thoughtfully evolving with technology before hybrid workplaces were standard.

This wasn’t a client session. Just time on the water with my friend/mentor Charley Drake and his dog, Juliet. We were off the coast of Anacortes, Washington in Padilla Bay, and I focused on capturing Drake as he is: calm, thoughtful, and completely at ease.

In their Olathe kitchen, the Boffa family spent the afternoon making pasta together; flour on the table, hands busy, conversation flowing. With them, I focused on documenting the rhythm of a shared tradition and the way time slows when everyone’s doing something together.

This session focused on spending time with the Lynn family in their Platte City kitchen as they baked together. The photos that emerged focused on shared joys, natural rhythm, and letting kids show up exactly as they are.

This family session took place at Frank Anneberg Park in Manhattan, Kansas. The focus wasn’t posing or perfect behavior; just Trey’Meka spending time with her boys, exploring the park and letting the afternoon unfold naturally.
